About Us
The Criminal Justice Club (“CJC”) is an official sub-club under the Law Club of the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Law. Our guiding motto, ‘Veritatis Et Aequitatis Tenax’, is Latin for persevering in truth and justice. Driven by this, our members have initiated a number of projects and events with the help of various external organisations.
CJC had its humble beginnings in 2009 and has been fast-growing ever since its inception. With an initial five arms: The Military Justice Project ("MJP"), The Recourse Initiative ("TRI"), formerly known as the Innocence Project), Criminal Law Digest ("CLD"), CJC-Forensic and Events, CJC has built strong and meaningful rapport with the Singapore legal community. In recognition of our professionalism and dedication, the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme ("CLAS") partnered with CJC in 2016, such that a new arm of CJC was formed: CJC-CLAS.
These projects work cohesively towards the fundamental common goal of raising awareness of important criminal justice issues amongst the student body and the public alike whilst advocating positive change in Singapore’s criminal justice landscape.
